বর্তমান সময়ে ডিভোর্স যেন একটি সামাজিক ব্যাধিতে পরিণত হয়েছে। মানুষগুলো এখন শুধু এখন নিজ পরিবার থেকেই বিচ্ছন্ন হচ্ছে না, একে অপরের সাথে বিচ্ছন্ন হয়ে জীবন কাটাচ্ছে একাকীত্বে। এ যেন ডির্ভোস দেওয়ার এক প্রতিযোগীতায় নেমেছে সবাই।

শুনলে আপনিও চমকে উঠবেন, বর্তমানে ঢাকায় প্রতি ঘন্টায় একটি করে ডিভোর্সের আবেদন হচ্ছে। যেখানে ২০১২ সালে শুধুমাত্র রাজধানী ঢাকায় দুই সিটি কর্পোরেমনের পরিসংখ্যান মতো ডিভোর্স হয়েছিল ৭৪০২টি সেখানে ২০১৭ সালে ডিভোর্সের সংখ্যা গিয়ে দাঁড়ায় ১০,২৯১টি।

শুধু ঢাকা শহরই নয়, ডিভোর্সের প্রবণতা সারাদেশের ছড়িয়ে পড়ছে ভাইরাসের মতো। বিবিএস এর তথ্যমতে গত ৭ বছরে সারা দেশের ডিভোর্সের প্রবণতা বেড়েছে ৩৪ শতাংশ। আর এই ডিভোর্সের প্রবণতা সবচেয়ে বেশি লক্ষ্য করা যায় শিক্ষিত নারী-পুরুষের মধ্যে। তবে নারী-পুরুষের পরিসংখ্যান হিসেবে বেশ এগিয়ে আছে নারীরাই। ৭০% নারীদের বিপরীতে ৩০% পুরুষ ডিভোর্স দিয়ে থাকে।

কিন্তু কেন বাড়ছে এই ডিভোর্সের সংখ্যা? আসুন জেনে নিই কিছু কারণ-

আদর্শ জীবনসঙ্গী খুঁজতে

১) পরকীয়া

বর্তমান সময়ের ডিভোর্সের অন্যতম কারণ হলো এই পরকীয়া। এই ব্যাধি নারী-পুরুষ দুজনের মধ্যেই লক্ষ্য করা যায়। বিবাহের পূর্বে থাকা সম্পর্ক, নিজেদের মধ্যে বনিবনা না হওয়া, পছন্দ-অপছন্দের তারতম্য থাকা সহ আরো বিভিন্ন কারণে নারী-পুরুষরা বিবাহ বহির্ভূত সম্পর্ক অথাৎ পরকীয় জড়িয়ে পড়ে৷ আর যখনি কেউ জানতে পারে কার জীবনসঙ্গী অন্য কোনো নারী/পুরুষের প্রতি আসক্ত, তখনি নিজেদের মধ্যে বিচ্ছেদের সম্ভাবনা জেগে উঠে। যার শেষ পরিণতি ডিভোর্স।

২) যৌতুক

যৌতুক আমাদের দেশের আরেকটি সামাজিক ব্যাধিগুলোর মধ্যে অন্যতম আরেকটি ব্যাধি। এই প্রবণতা শিক্ষিত আর অশিক্ষিত বা গ্রাম/শহর নয়, পুরো দেশ জুড়েই এই যৌতুকে প্রকোপ বাড়ছে। যৌতুক আদায়ের মাধ্যম হিসেবে স্বামী, শ্বশুড়, শ্বাশুড়ি সব স্বামীর পরিবার হতে লাঞ্চিত, নির্যাতিত হয়ে ধৈর্য হারিয়ে অবশেষে ডির্ভোর্সের পথ বেধে নেন। অনেকেই তো আত্মহননও করে থাকেন এই জঘন্যতম সামাজিক ব্যাধির কারণে।

৩) শারীরিক ও মানসিক নির্যাতন

এখানে নারী ও পুরুষ দুজনই ভূমিকা পালন করে থাকে। ছেলরা মেয়েদের দ্বারা শারীরিকভাবে নির্যাতিত না হলেও আজকাল নারীদের দ্বারা অনেক পুরুষরাই মানসিকভাবে নির্যাতিত হয়ে থাকে। অপরদিকে নারীরা পুরুষদের দ্বারা সবসময়ই মানসিক ও শারীরিকভাবে নির্যাতিত হয়ে থাকেন। অনেকেই অমানবিক নির্যাতনের শিকার হয়ে অবশেষে ডিভোর্স দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নেন।

৪) স্বনির্ভরশীলতা

সময়ের সাথে সাথে বেড়েছি নারী শিক্ষার প্রসার ও নারী ক্ষমতায়ন। এখন আর কোনো নারীকে বিশেষত কোনো পুরুষের উপর নির্ভর করে বাঁচতে হয় না। মোট কথা এখনকার নারীরা বেশ স্বনির্ভর। কোনো কারণে স্বামীর সাথে বনিবনা হলেই নারীরা এখন খুব সহজ ও সাহসিকতায় স্বামীকে ডিভোর্স দিতে পারে।

৫) অর্থাভাব

যদিও অর্থই সব না, তবে বর্তমান সময়ে টিকে থাকতে হলে অর্থের গুরুত্ব অপরিসীম। কথায় আছে, “টাকা না থাকলে ভালোবাসা জানালা দিয়ে পালায়।” কথাটি মোটেও মন্দ নয়। অতএব বর্তমানে অনেক ডিভোর্সই হয়ে থাকে স্বামীর অস্বচ্ছলতায় সংসারে অভাব-অনটন ও অশান্তির কারণে।
